I am very happy with my purchase of the Perfect Cloud Gel Max 10 inch. Even my husband, who was extremely skeptical about ordering a “bed in a box”, is very pleasantly surprised! The bed itself is on the firm side, so hopefully it will keep its shape for years to come. The “smell”, referred to in other reviews, disapated in a couple of days. It looks exactly like the picture and is very comfortable. It sleeps cool, thankfully since I suffer from night sweats. My sheets, which I used on my 13” innerspring, fit this bed better. We never expected this quality in a mattress for this price, I would definitely recommend it.

This is my first foam mattress, so never had one with a gel layer either. My only experiences with foam mattresses before were on other people's memory foam beds, and they were really thick and I sunk into them. Since this only has a 1.5' memory foam top layer, it didn't feel like quicksand lying on this, which was nice. Some people may prefer a thicker or thinner layer, but I can't do any honest comparison. The product picture with the layers speaks for itself, but I can say that I received what was promised. The quality of the mattress seems superior. I bought a twin for my son's toddler bed, so I don't sleep in it regularly, but I do join him from time to time, and it's been great so far. I would want something plushier for myself, and my springy Sealy Posturepedic with pillowtop works for me and my aching back. But for a toddler bed, this is more than he needs, and I think it'll last us quite a while.Also, everyone seems to be obsessed with mattress thickness, and I guess it makes sense to some degree with complex layered beds like this one if it affects your sleep, so this is for you folks. After taking it out of the bag, it sprang up to 9.5' within a couple minutes, and was 10' when I checked again 3 or 4 hours later. The dimensions were even all around. No gaps in the bed frame, no sloping ends.The smell lingered for the next day or 2 even with window open and fan running for a few hours each day. The foam is really dense (and the bed feels really dense when you lie on it), so open window and running fan aren't enough. What I think does the trick is to sit on it and lie on it and bounce around a bit to press some of the air out of the mattress. The smell went away soon after I did that, so try that first and see if it saves you any time.

The mattress was delivered on time and was exactly as promised. Unfortunately, my mother was the recipient, and even though she had already tried my queen-size out and liked it, she was unable to feel comfortable on the new one. She felt she could not turn over easily in bed. She is 80 and has had back issues, and it was just too hard for her to get used to it. I put in a return order and they refunded my money immediately and asked me to donate the mattress. I was worried about returning it since it was a mattress, but it was easier than I imagined, and I was not expecting to get all my money back. The product is a good one but we did not need a double bed size for anyone else. The mattress was donated to a local shelter who were glad to get it.
